The
cost of trowels
Most people prefer the four inch trowel. For some obscure reason these are often more expensive than an six inch archaeology trowel. The new WHS 'premier' has a rubberised grip, but most archaeologists stick to the wooden handled trowels.
The cost of a trowel is one of the basic expenses of archaeology. Beyond that there is little else that could be described as essential.
