Greek Islands: Tinos
Along with Andros, Syros and Mykonos, Tinos is part of the Cyclades island
group in the north Aegean.
Tinos has forty white little villages, each more beautiful than the last.
Civic pride is almost a religion on the island where streets are clean and
paintwork refreshed almost incessantly.
Things to see on the island of Tinos
There are more than 750 churches on the island of Tinos and it is a place
of pilgrimage for many greeks. As a result the tourist industry is kept
low key and so Tinos is unspoilt and more authentically greek than many
of the islands.
Beaches on Tinos
The beach at Pahia ammos is my particular favourite. The archaeological museum on tinos is described in the lonely planet guide as "somewhat disappointing" which is a fair comment.
Reviews of Tinos
Staying on Tinos
The Anemoessa Hotel on Tinos is not astounding but nothing to complain about.
