Greek Islands: Meganisi
Meganisi is reached by ferry from Nidri. Once you arrive you will be first struck by the quietness. Meganisi is a somewhat sleepy, peaceful place.
Meganisi only has three small villages (Spertohori, Vathi and Katomeri) and there are no large tourist developments on the island, making Meganisi the perfect island to escape from the stresses and strains of a modern life.
The population of meganisi (also spelled Meganissi) is less than 2000 people. Meganisi really is the one Ionian island where time has stood still.
Natural wonders can be found down the many variety of footpaths and goat trails and include some amazing seashore caves.
Beaches on Meganisi
- Ai Yiannis Beach
- Ambelaki Beach
- Atherinos Beach
- Fanari Beach
- Spilia Beach

Vathi
There are 3 main tavernas in Porto Vathi and we have given them stars based on our own totally biased experience as follows: Vathi (two stars) Stavros (four stars) The Rose Garden (five stars) The food at the rose garden was so delicious every nmight we ate there.
