Cranium

We have had a box of Cranium for a year now and I am happy to recommend it as the best family board game ever invented for our family.

We always steered away from family board games because one of the kids (11 year old twins) was so much better at them than the other which always led to arguements and tantrums.

Because different children have different learning styles and skills one child will almost always be 'better at board games' than another. Well Cranium gets around this by combining many different activities in one board game, each adapted to a different learning style. So while Jake might be better at the 'quiz' questions, his brother Sam always does better at the 'pictionary' element of the game.

It takes about an hour of fun and excitement to get round the cranium board and it combines both chance and skill elements.

The key to Cranium's success is the diversity of the challenges. These include general knowledge, drawing, clay modelling, charades, spelling, humming and logic puzzles.
