Strawberry Taste test
There are strawberries and there are strawberries.
In the interests of science we decided to pick two varieties from the local shop and do a blind taste test to see which people thought was the best.
We asked questions about shape, colour, flavour and sweetness. We believe the first two worth asking but are far less important than the last two factors which are all about the actual taste in the mouth.
Our two strawberry varieties were Sonata and Gariguette. Both were grown locally under glass and harvested very early in the season (May 3rd)
Sonata is one of the common varieties found in supermarkets while Gariguette is especially grown for its flavour. As a result it is approximately 50% more expensive.
