Soft sugar cookie recipes
A classic family recipe for old fashioned Soft sugar cookies. Grandma never used measurements, she just poured the flour straight from a big jar until she had 'the right ammount'. I hope I have made it a bit easier for you to make your own soft sugar cookies with my estimations of the right proportions.
Firstly cream together
Half a cup of granulated sugar
Half a cup of powdered sugar
1 cup butter
Next slice a vanilla pod lengthways and add the seeds.
Drop in 1 egg and stir it all together before adding
2 Cups of Plain flour
Half a teaspoon of baking soda
Half a teaspoon of cream of tartar
A pinch of salt
Once again mix well.
Now leave in the refrigerator for half an hour.
Roll the soft dough into about 60 very small cookies and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Place them on a cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees Farenheit for 12 minutes.
Cool on a wire rack.
