Home made christmas baubles
Great christmas decorations to make at home
Learn to make baubles like these from thin card.
Paper Bauble Instructions
One sheet of A4 card is enough for four homemade paper baubles. Add glitter or use patterned paper for more vibrant effects.
Here are step by step photographs of the process. Firstly score six lines lengthways on A5 (or widthways on A4) card. The lines need to be 1cm apart

Cut six strips of card

Make a nick at each end of each strip so that they can be joined together

like this...

to make a loop. Only loop one strip.

The rest should be woven into a simple five pointed star shape like the one below. Each strip should go over, under, over, under its neighbours.

Now drop the ring on top

and draw up the five strips that are under their neighbours at the edge. Pull these into the ring.

Now cross these with their neighbours, locking the ring in place
then finally the fiddly task of locking each strip with itself. You may find the last two a bit tricky, so take your time and get the under over thing correct for a stable ball made of stars that is perfect to hang on a christmas tree.
Happy Christmas!
