Bibles to be banned in British Hospitals

The University of Leicester NHS Trust said it was banning Bibles from hospital wards because they offend minorities.

A spokesman said the trust also concerned that the books helped to spread bacteria. They added that "patients can be reassured that religious texts will continue to be made available at hospitals through the chaplaincy."

Gideons International who have been putting bibles into hospitals and other institutions for more than 100 years, called the proposal "sad" and "ridiculous".
