Roman Paris moved West.

Traditionally Lutetia, the home of the Parisii was believed to lie on the Ile de la Cite, smack bang in the centre of Paris. Now a larger Gallic settlement on the suburb of Nanterre is being posited at the ancient city of Lutetia.
